Ode to Shelburne Bay

All the boats on their leashes
All the fish on the lines
All the ducks and the geeses
Wings entangled in flight

All the big and small pieces
Of driftwood and stone
All the boats on their leashes
All the sailors gone home

All the boats on their leashes
All the crickets at once
All the singing and dying
For the same silent sun

All the shadows of mountains
All the moss on the trees
All the boats on their leashes
Rocked asleep by the breeze
