This is how the Spirit pleads

This is how the Spirit pleads:
in flashing lines of poetry

When prose is paved with only greed
and moves as slow as centipede

The Spirit always antecedes
the noise that clogs your social feed

No pinot grape nor poppy seed
can drown the message youโ€™ll receive

Believe me this: the Spirit knows
your need is deep, your scars aglow

With blue light burning from your phone
the Spirit blazes to bestow

The slag of self as embryo
The symmetry of high for low

So scrap the stale tableaux vivant
Be more than cyber dilettante

The Spirit wants you to uphold
the wisdom of the marigolds

Remember that the rosary
is not just random knots and beads

For some, itโ€™s fine to pray with rhyme
for Spirit speaks in metered lines
